I'm not sure if this is a bad way of going about things but what does everyone think about fake calling the competition to gather prices? Starting out my business, I was stuck on what I should charge and decided to call a few other business to see what they were charging.

Couple weeks ago I called business and a lady picked up promptly asking what services was I interested in. I proceeded to tell her and she gave me prices on everything. She asked when I would like to set up an appointment date for every and I told her I was going to come in to set up an appointment. She sort of hesitated, starting to think things were a bit fishy so I simple just ended the call.

Is this wrong or is just simple doing things to get an idea? "Ya gotta do what ya gotta do, right?"

Well I think the situation itself could have been better but I myself don't actually know as well. I'm really confused myself and would gladly hear everybodys impression on this, what do you guys think?

Well yeah of course you'll do that, you need that information to see how your competition is doing and a way to beat them, watch out if they do it on you too though

I actually haven't done that, I might try but I don't see it that needed or anything, come on we're all friendly people trying to earn some money not deadly enemies
