Hello! What tools and equipment do we need for manual helical pile installation? Want to make sure we have everything before starting.

Hello! For manual installation you'll need several essential items: A spirit level or magnetic spirit level (absolutely critical for maintaining vertical alignment), a rod that fits into the pile's specially designed hole, 2500mm long pipes for leverage (you'll need these on both sides), and of course the helical piles themselves. After installation, you'll also need concrete or mortar for securing the piles, cutting equipment to level them, welding equipment and heads (or channels) for attaching timber beams, and the timber beams themselves. Most importantly, you need at least 3 people - one to hold the pile vertical while constantly checking the level, and two strong workers to turn the pile. The physical demands are significant and the precision required is high. You can see the complete procedure at https://about-the-foundation.blogspot.com/2025/06/how-to-screw-in-helical-piles.html As mentioned there, this is quite complex work requiring specific qualifications. Unless you have construction experience, I'd seriously consider getting quotes from specialists rather than attempting this yourself.
