Once you have selected your pure water system and waterpole, you will want to research the type of waterpole brush that works best for you. We sell a variety of different waterpole brushes each with unique style and purpose.

Whether you want a brush with bristles or a scrub pad, nylon or natural bristles, two or more jets, we’ve got a brush for you! When you look at each brush, consider the material, trim, brush jets and the size. Our website shows our huge selection of waterpole brushes from Gardiner, Tucker, Ettore, and Unger. We’re constantly expanding our selection of Gardiner brushes!

    BRUSH MATERIAL:

Nylon Brush Bristles: Affordable and greater for general maintenance cleaning!
Nylon is a smooth synthetic material which allows the bristles to come in many forms. They tend to come in a variety of lengths and thicknesses. Since the material is smooth, it may not have the capacity to scrub quite like other materials such as boar’s hair.

Boars Hair Brushes: Extra scrubbing power!
These brushes are naturally flocked with split ends, every bristle is actually made up of several tiny bristles. The density of the bristles, as well as its ability to absorb water, will give great scrubbing power when compared to nylon brushes. Extra scrubbing is great but keep in mind, these bristles do not last as long and need slightly more care in between uses.

Hybrid Brushes: Best of both worlds!
You may come across some brushes that are composed of a combination of nylon and boar’s hair. The nylon fibers are on the outside while the middle contains the shorter boar’s hair bristles.

    BRUSH BRISTLE TRIM:

SINGLE: Single trim have the same length bristles throughout, making a straight surface. This will typically be a feature of Boar bristle brushes.

DOUBLE: Double Trim brushes are made up of two different layers of bristle length. The outside bristles are longer and the middle shorter. This will typically be a nylon or hybrid brush. With pressure applied to the brush, the outside spreads out giving control and a light brushing. The inner bristles are where a majority of the scrubbing take place. This is a common feature in our best-selling Gardiner Brushes.

    BRUSH SIZE:

STANDARD: Brushes typically are 12 inches. This length of brush has become stand for residential cleanings.

LARGER: Brushes over 12 inches. This length of brush is for jobs with large panes of glass. Longer brushes, you can clean more area faster with standard 18-inch-long brushes. With longer brushes you have less concentrated scrubbing because the pressure and water you apply is spread out.

SMALL: Brushes under 12 inches. You cover significantly less area but can get a concentrated scrub. Gardiner has a 5-inch ultimate micro flocked brush which is loved by window cleaners, especially for French pane glass.

    BRUSH JETS:

PENCIL JETS: Straight streams that spray directly onto the glass. The high pressure helps for scrubbing and removing debris from the glass.

FAN JETS: The water is dispersed and furthers the waters reach. If the windows do not need a ton of scrubbing, this jet will help you get the windows cleaned faster.

RINSE BARS: This tool can be added, either on the top or bottom of a waterpole brush. Small holes across the length of the bar allow for multiple pencil jets to spray water while rinsing. If the rinse bar is placed on top of the brush, it will be the last thing to touch the glass, giving it a good rinse.

Here at Detroit Sponge, we’re always happy to answer any questions you have about waterpole brushes, either before or after you purchase. Email us or give us a call during business hours.
