I've been asked to give a bid on doing a whole apartment complex for seniors inside and out. There are about 500 windows total on the 3 floors. Just wondering if you guys would give big discounts because there are so many in one spot?

Sure a discount I don't know about a big discount. How long do you think it will take you and are you using a water fed pole?

No WFP. But I think I can use my pole on it all rather than moving a ladder around. I'm figuring 2 days on it. Being I have to go into people's apartments and remove screens and do in and out. I'm thinking about 20 hours give or take a couple. I like to average about 45/hr. So I guess if I just figured that way it would be a pretty nice discount.

I have always been for getting the Job first then worrying about the work part of it later. It seems you are around the $2 Or $3 per window price do you think a extra dollar or two would be a deal breaker bidding vs your competition? How many guys will be helping you?

Yup that's kind of where I was thinking of bidding it. One guy helping me. My normal competition is between 5 and 7, but this apartment complex has been using someone I don't even know of. Was kind of hoping to nail it and get the rest of their properties too.

I like that mindset of getting your foot in the door and then going after all there properties. I hope you get it and keep us posted and feel free to post your pictures you have of the job site !

Well, I got the contract. I was about $75, higher than another cleaner. But, because I already do their carpet cleaning they wanted to go with me. I don't clean them until June. I really lucked out because all of the windows pull in. So no ladder work or pole work!

It depends on your competition and really and relationship with your clients and how they see you. Those are all factors that should determine the discount.

Glad to see everything worked out well.

I would just give them some small discount that has already been planned before, if we had a promotion or something, some special offers so that they could redeem it, though I'm not sure if that is the right way to go about it
