Wagtail creates professional pivoting cleaning tools, made by window cleaners for window cleaners.

What is so unique about the squeegee designed and built down under? Welcome to the world of Willie, the creator of the WagTail squeegee line.

When Willie started the company in 1993, he set out to provide a more efficient way for people to wash and squeegee windows. He created professional pivoting cleaning tools, designed for speed and precision with less strain on the body. Their products are made by window cleaners, for window cleaners. He named the company after the Willie Wagtail bird that is native to Australia. The Australians have an appreciation of this bird of the Australian bush for its agility, quickness and willingness to take on bigger birds as needed.

The tools in the Wagtail line up each feature Willie’s unique angle at the pivoting joint. And, oh yes, each of the WagTail tools pivot. The pivot is essential to Willie’s vision of fluid, fast and efficient movements when cleaning windows. Most of his designs involve an integration of the scrubber and the squeegee into one tool. The squeegee is aluminum and very lightweight. For the scrubber, Willie uses a high grade, microfiber washing pad. The pad is key as it retains water, scrubs well, and remains flexible to get out of the way when it is time to transition to squeegeeing the glass. You also can recognize their royal blue squeegee rubbers.

Let’s talk about a couple of the more popular WagTail squeegees that are in our Detroit Sponge, on hand inventory:

The Slim Line Flipper continues to be one of the most popular units in our inventory. The tool can be used to scrub the window and then with a flip, transition right away to squeegee the glass. Of course, WagTails unique handle with its free pivoting motion and specific angle will keep your tool directly in the position it needs to be in order to work flawlessly.

The High Flyer is another of the pivoting scrubber and squeegee combo tools from Wagtail. The High Flyer has a solid piece that retains the scrubber pad while the squeegee blade is exposed at the end, leaving it ready for quick use. Simply scrub and then, using a flipping motion, flip the pad so the squeegee is up and ready for use. The angles are all designed to make sure the pivot High Flyer will get to all of the corners of elevated glass without having to change out tools.

With the increased use of pure water in window cleaning, the Wagtail team introduced their unique innovation into the water pole market, the Wave. Instead of heavy brushes with their long bristles, Willie uses the microfiber pad for scrubbing. There is plenty of water as the Wave is designed to provide water across the entire surface of the pad with his simple and unique design. The Wave even features a squeegee blade to allow you to pivot the tool and squeegee the glass free of remaining pure water. The tool is designed to attach to a pole with a tapered end, you may need to manage the transition for your water pole work.

NEW to our inventory is the Power Pivot squeegee combo with pad and absorbing sponge. As always, the angle is set to Willie’s design. On this tool, the scrubber is further enhanced by adding a strip of absorbent material, or squeegee sponge. The design is to help catch any stray drips or excess water that might drip back onto the cleaned glass surface.

Finally, with the WagTails unique angle, the angle arm continues to be a great seller. This angle arm can help to create an even more versatile angle for using Willie’s tools to clean all the way to the bottom of the window. This tool slips onto poles with a tapered end. The Wagtail tool of your choice will then slide onto the end of the angle arm. Very versatile, it might be one of those tools that you need to hold in your hand and use on the glass in order to see how it can help.

Willie continues to innovate tools as he continues to press for innovation in the window cleaning industry. See the complete line of our in-stock inventory on our site.
