This is for my own personal house. I have an extremely badly rust stained window. I am wondering what works to remove it? Does Mr. Hardwater system, with steel wool pads work? Is acid a good idea?

I've never dealt with rust before so I have no clue where to even start to clean it. Trying to gauge what's the most effective way but without ruining the window as window as well. I'd hate to have ruined it even more and end up buying a new window if I can find a way to get the rust in the first place lol.
